Yea!!!! I'm here! I'm here! But let's go back a moment...

The pre-departure orientation in Madison was filled with surprises. I had had this vision of cement cells with mosquito nets and trekking through India -- was I wrong. The Fulbright Commission is serious business and they take care of their awardees. We had world class presenters from Oxford and the like (slackers) who informed us about Indian history and economics, culture, Hindi, and how to not totally embarrass yourself or your country. It was really well organized and the folks from UW and USIEF were great.

Madison is a sweet town. Really pretty and tranquil. Check it out: A lakefront two-bedroom condo is $199,999. Could it be the winters?

The flight out was from Madison to Chicago to Frankfurt to Delhi. I'm not quite sure how long it took -- still kinda dazed. I think we were in the air for 17 hours, more or less.

  1. Mónika! There's like this evil gremlin that keeps throwing down challenges in my way. Ha ha ha - I will not be defeated! So first it was my uncle's computer crash, then it was scrambling to grab one from work (you know I signed the form!), and now this one has charger issues. The battery must be old because it doesn't hold a charge for long, and the frickin' power cord is quite temperamental. If I hold it a certain way... it will deign to be my friend. What do you think the karmic implications of this are?? :-) Your pal

  2. Love your pictures. There seems to be one missing though. I thought I may see some of the "facilities" you've been visiting. Hope you are well.

By the way, the fireworks sale went very well. It was a lot of work and I'm very thankful Alma was there with me every day. The profits are not official so I'll let you know once I have the official amount.

  3. Ay! Chica! Yeah, that Gremlin is the one that started out all cute & furry, then jumped into a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 2AM, then got wet and you guessed the rest: it morphed and begun to wreak havoc!

Karmic implications: The universe reminds you that you are resourceful, tenacious, optimistic, and seeking a common truth in mankind...

I'm so stoked you're being treated well and energized! Please be gentle take care of yourself.

Eagerly looking forward to your story,
    Mónika
